Simulator Field Of View Calculator
Simulator Field Of View Calculator
Measure your rig, check the viewing geometry and apply the right setting in your simulator. Everything below is calculated from your own measurements, not from assumed hardware specifications.

Display configuration
Screen orientation
Applies to every screen in this arrangement.
VR headsets
Headset projection is controlled by the headset and its runtime, so this monitor calculator does not produce a replacement VR field-of-view value. Flat-screen maths does not apply to a headset. Set your seating position and scale inside the game's VR options instead.
Ultrawide and super ultrawide describe aspect ratios, not separate projections. Each can be flat or curved, and every mode shares the same geometry engine.
AI Setup Assistant
Optional assistance for filling calculator inputs. The field of view is always calculated by the geometry engine.
AI is off by default and sends nothing until you switch it on. Manual setup and monitor lookup remain available.
Measurements
Measure from between your eyes, in your normal driving position, to the centre of the centre screen surface. Not from the seat or wheel.
Screen
88 researched models with maker sources (checked 2026-09-29). Not a popularity ranking, price or stock list.
Width and height are derived from the diagonal and aspect ratio (813 mm diagonal). Manufacturer active-image dimensions or your own measurements are more accurate than rounded marketing sizes.
Active image to housing edge. Shown on the diagram for scale — a bezel around a single screen never changes the field of view.
Shortcuts are typical values, not verified monitor-model specifications.
Interactive 3D rig view
Click a display or the head to highlight it. Drag the head to change eye distance; drag inside the circle to orbit or pan; scrolling moves the page.

Physical measurements, not a single FOV number
This simulator takes measured screen geometry and computes the projection itself. Enter the physical values shown below.
Physical values to enter in game
- Active image width, centre screen: 708 mm
- Active image height, centre screen: 398 mm
- Eye to screen distance: 700 mm
Angle convention: Side monitor angle entered as the rotation of the side panel towards the driver
Results
- Horizontal FOV of the rendered viewportSingle viewport
- 53.7°
- Vertical FOVCentre vertical slice, from your eye position
- 31.8°
- Centre screen active image
- 708 mm × 398 mm
- Eye to centre screen

Angles are shown to one decimal place and calculated at full precision. Render aspect ratio: 1.778:1 (From the active image dimensions).
